In a video shared on Instagram, the 42-year-old entertainer expressed dissatisfaction with Tinubu’s handling of Nigeria’s economic hardship and security challenges.
Speed Darlington particularly faulted the president’s removal of fuel subsidy introduced in 2023,.
He argued that the decision worsened the economic situation and led to a sharp increase in the cost of goods and services across the country.
According to him, many business owners and traders took advantage of the subsidy removal to raise prices excessively, making life harder for ordinary Nigerians.
“Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you are concerned about becoming the next president of Nigeria. But you are not qualified to be president again,” he said.
“From your first round, we know your second round is going to be hellfire. You entered the office, and the first thing you did was remove the subsidy, knowing very well that everything about Nigerian life is tied to petroleum.
“My fellow Igbo people, Hausa, Yoruba and other tribes in between are looking for different reasons to raise prices, and you gave them a 1000 per cent reason to raise prices.
“Nigerians who are naturally greedy, now that you have removed the subsidy. Now, all the merchants in the country have skyrocketing prices. Merchants looking for a perfect excuse now have one.”
Questioning the president’s bid for re-election, the singer said, “Tell me what qualifies you to be president, round two?”
