Qing Madi Accuses Ex-Label Boss Of Forging Her Signature, Stealing Her Money [Video]

Afrobeats singer Qing Madi has accused her former record label boss, Joy Tongo, of fraud and financial misconduct.

The singer claimed that Tongo, the CEO of JTon Music, forged her signature and stole money that rightfully belonged to her.

The singer made the allegations while addressing the recent removal of several tracks from her new album, “Barely Legal,” from streaming platforms due to an alleged breach of contract.

During a TikTok live session, Qing Madi alleged that her former label has been making repeated efforts to damage her career.

According to her, these actions intensified after she successfully challenged a $2 million lawsuit filed against her by the label.

The singer stated that one of her songs, “Pepper Me,” was removed from streaming services, but she and her team were able to prove that the takedown was unlawful.

Qing Madi further claimed that additional steps were later taken to target the rest of the project.

“She [Joy Tongo] stole from me, did a bunch of weird things like forging my signature. She sued me for $2M & she lost the case. She took down ‘Pepper Me’.

“I worked with my team to prove it’s an illegal takedown. They went through the corners again to take down the project,” she said

Expressing frustration over the situation, Qing Madi appealed to her fans to speak out, saying the prolonged dispute with her former label has become exhausting.

In response, Joy Tongo dismissed all the allegations made against her, describing them as untrue.

The record label boss denied forging any signatures or stealing from the singer.

Tongo also disputed Qing Madi’s claim of winning the legal battle, stating that the case is still unresolved.

According to her, an existing court injunction gives the label the legal authority to request the removal of songs and projects linked to the dispute.

She questioned Qing Madi’s statement about winning the case, insisting that legal proceedings are still ongoing.

“Also, the injunction is ruling is why we can issue a legal takedown now, what case have you won? Because last time I checked the case still hasn’t gone to trial,” Tongo added in a post on her Instagram page.
