The award-winning artiste shared the advice during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra.
Davido urged upcoming singers to have confidence in themselves, remain dedicated to improving their talent, and never stop learning.
Reflecting on his own journey, the singer said his passion for music pushed him to keep developing his skills from an early age.
“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” he said.
The singer also stressed the importance of keeping God at the centre of one’s life, especially after achieving fame and success.
According to him, success comes with many temptations and distractions that can cause people to forget the source of their blessings.
He advised rising musicians to remain grounded, continue loving what they do, and always remember to put God first throughout their careers.
“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here,” he added.
