Arsenal Agree £75m Deal For Newcastle Captain Bruno Guimarães
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Newcastle United to sign captain Bruno Guimaraes in a deal worth £75 million.

The Brazilian midfielder has now been cleared to travel for his medical before completing the move to the Premier League champions.
Bruno Guimaraes had reportedly informed Newcastle earlier in the summer that he wanted to join Arsenal if the club submitted an acceptable offer.
Although Arsenal’s first bid was turned down, both clubs have now agreed on a transfer fee.
The 28-year-old joined Newcastle from French side Lyon in 2022 for £40 million.
During his time at St James’ Park, he made 195 appearances and scored 31 goals.
Newcastle had hoped to keep their captain, who still had two years remaining on his contract with the option of an additional year.
However, the club agreed to sell after receiving an offer that matched its valuation.
If the transfer is completed, Newcastle’s income from player sales this summer will exceed £240 million.
Anthony Gordon has already joined Barcelona, while Sandro Tonali moved to Tottenham Hotspur.
The club has also seen manager Eddie Howe leave during a busy transfer window.
It was gathered that Newcastle made every effort to convince Guimaraes to remain at the club.
However, the midfielder believed this was the right time to make a move, seeing it as a major opportunity to compete for more trophies.
Newcastle maintained throughout the negotiations that Guimaraes would only be sold if he requested to leave and if a club met their asking price.
The club also wanted the transfer handled professionally, with the Brazilian continuing to train with the squad while discussions took place.
Club officials were pleased with Guimaraes’ attitude during the process and appreciated that he remained committed until an agreement was reached.
Newcastle was determined to avoid the kind of transfer drama experienced in previous windows.
Negotiations between Arsenal and Newcastle lasted several weeks, with the Magpies rejecting earlier suggestions of a much lower transfer fee.
Despite the lengthy talks, both clubs are understood to have maintained a positive relationship, and there has been no dispute between Bruno Guimaraes and Newcastle over his departure.
