Ex-Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun Loses Husband Anthony Adeniyi

Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, the husband of former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun, has died at the age of 62.

A statement released by the Adeosun family, said Adeniyi, popularly known as Niyi, passed away on August 5 in Lagos.

He is survived by his wife, children and other family members, including his brother, Adewale Adeosun, the founder of Kuramo Capital.

The family said details of his funeral and Christian burial will be announced at a later date.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the assurance of God’s Word: ‘Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord… that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them’ (Revelation 14:13),” the statement reads.

The family requests privacy during this difficult period as we grieve our irreplaceable loss. Details of the funeral and Christian burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.

“We thank all who have reached out with prayers, condolences, and support.”

Kemi Adeosun served as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance from 2015 to 2018 during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
