TUC Protests At Abuja Continental Hotel Over Alleged Unfair Labour Practices

The Hotel and Personal Service Senior Staff Association, an affiliate of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), has begun a protest at the Abuja Continental Hotel over alleged unfair labour practices and poor working conditions.

The union is also demanding that workers be allowed to freely join and operate within the union, citing concerns over freedom of association.

Union officials told newsmen that several attempts to hold discussions with the hotel management had not been successful, as management allegedly refused to meet with them.

During the protest, the union members attempted to shut the hotel’s main gate, but police officers and some hotel officials prevented them from doing so.

Despite the resistance, the union has blocked the entrance to the hotel as the protest continues.
