Man Stabs Neighbour To Death in Ogun Over Alleged Affair With Wife

A tenant, Ikem Chika Emmanuel has reportedly stabbed his neighbor, Philip Fiama, to death, alleging that he was involved in a secret affair with his wife.

The incident took place on a Sunday at about 6:30 pm, involving the suspect and victim residing at Sobande Close, Alagbole, Ajuwon, within the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State

It was reported that the suspect confronted the victim, accusing him of engaging in an inappropriate relationship with his wife,an accusation Emmanuel denied

After a heated argument, the situation escalated into a physical altercation, leading to Emmanuel fatally stabbing Fiama.
Efforts to save Fiama proved futile as he died on his way to a hospital in their vicinity.

The suspect also immediately took to his heels.

When contacted, SP Omolola Odutola, spokeswoman for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident

Odutola said, “Around 8pm on that day, someone came to report that one Philip Fiama, a tenant, accused Ikem Chika Emmanuel, another tenant of having sexual intercourse with his wife.

“This was reported to have led to a fight when Ikem Chika Emmanuel stabbed Fiama on the chest. The deceased was said to have been confirmed dead in one Tamara Hospital.

“The suspect has escaped to an unknown destination and the case has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta for discreet investigation. The police are also on the trail of the fleeing suspect.”

Kanyi Daily recalls that a 28-year-old man, Sani Mohammed, was sentenced to 30 months in prison by a Grade 1 Area Court in Dei-Dei, Abuja, on Friday.
