The BBNaija star, who was accused of assaulting his wife, Bamike Olawunmi, better known as Bambam, spoke during a recent podcast with media personality Chude Jideonwo.

He revealed that a report accusing him of physically abusing his wife left him emotionally drained and battling depression.

Teddy A described the claims as completely untrue and said they deeply upset both him and his family.

He explained that the rumours, which included allegations that he abused his wife while she was pregnant, came as a shock.

“I woke up, went downstairs, and my wife was there watching a movie. She was pregnant and laughing.

“I hadn’t posted anything. I was wondering what was trending and why my phone was blowing up,” he said.

After checking online, the reality star said he saw the accusations spreading quickly.

He said his wife became confused and emotional, repeatedly asking who would make up such a story about them.

“She kept asking who could do this to us. Honestly, I didn’t know where it came from,” he added.

According to him, the rumours gained traction fast and sparked heated conversations on social media.

Unsure of how to respond, he reached out to his manager, who advised him to ignore the claims and let the issue die down on its own.

Teddy A said he followed that advice at first, believing silence would make the controversy disappear, but he later realised that staying quiet had long-term effects.

At the time, I didn’t understand the damage staying silent would do. Even now, when my wife and I post photos or videos, people still comment and ask if I beat her,” he said.

Looking back, he admitted the experience changed how some people viewed him and left him hurt.

It affected me because people began to see me in a way that wasn’t true,” he added.
