The couple recently announced that they are expecting their first child together in a joint Instagram post.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Temi explained that the discovery happened while they were travelling across Asia after their wedding celebrations.

The actress said she only found out about the pregnancy during their honeymoon trip, which came after a busy year filled with multiple wedding ceremonies held in different countries.

After wrapping up three weddings in 2025, a court wedding in Monaco, a traditional Nigerian wedding in Dubai, and a church wedding in Iceland, we wanted to end the year with a 2-month, digital-detoxed honeymoon, travelling across Korea and Japan. That’s when we found out!” She said.

Temi Otedola described the moment as emotional, saying they were excited to share the news with close family and friends.

She explained that they personally handed out ultrasound pictures to loved ones across different countries as a surprise.

It’s been the greatest news to share. With our family and friends living across every continent, we shared with as many of them as we could in real life, giving them our ultrasound printouts as a surprise,” she stated.

The actress added that she was able to tell more of her friends during her 30th birthday celebration in Mallorca earlier in the year.

On preparations for their baby, Temi said that she and her husband have already started thinking about names, even though they are keeping the baby’s gender private for now.

She revealed that they often exchange name ideas on WhatsApp and have also asked their parents to contribute suggestions, following Nigerian tradition.

My husband and I send each other names all the time on WhatsApp. We’ve also asked our parents to give us name ideas, as is Nigerian tradition,” she said.

Temi also spoke about her pregnancy experience, saying the first few months were challenging due to tiredness and morning sickness, but things have improved over time.

“I love how pregnancy forces you to slow down. I’ve been gradually slowing down my routine, prioritizing my goals and looking inward,” she added.
