Davido Quits Nigerian Politics After Uncle Ademola Adeleke’s Re-Election
Afrobeats star Davido said he plans to stay away from Nigerian politics after his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, won re-election as Osun State Governor.

The singer made the statement while responding to a post about the election by APC youth leader Dayo Israel on X.
Davido said he supported his family throughout the political campaign without relying on anyone to defend or stand up for him.
He had campaigned for Adeleke during the election and was actively involved in expressing his support for his uncle.
Davido, however, said the criticism and backlash he faced during the process had left him frustrated.
The singer described his critics as harsh and unpleasant, adding that he believed he had done what he needed to do.
He also expressed his disappointment with Nigerian politics, saying he no longer wanted to be involved in the country’s political activities.
“I brought no one! No one defended me! I backed my family on my own!! You guys r ruthless n disgusting! Eeewwww! I have done my job! Nigerian politics is evil AND I DONT WANT TO BE A PART OF IT TILL GOD HELPS US!” Davido wrote.
