B-Red made the comment during a 2023 appearance on the Echoroom podcast.

His remarks resurfaced on social media on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, shortly after his father secured a second term as Osun State governor.

Adeleke won the August 15, 2026 governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, securing 511,067 votes. He defeated the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who received 444,815 votes.

During the old interview, B-Red was asked if he believed his father could one day become Nigeria’s president.

The singer said he did not want his father to seek the presidency because of the pressure and stress that could come with having a president in the family.

He said, “People are talking about it, but I don’t want him to be. I don’t want no stress on me, your daddy, I beg. Your father is the president; he did not do this.”

B-Red, however, said he had confidence in his father’s character and believed he would use the position to improve the country if given the opportunity.

“But I know my dad, he has such a good heart, but if he does become the president, this country go change oh,” he said.

According to the singer, his family was financially comfortable and would therefore have no reason to seek public office for personal financial gain.

“It will choke in every aspect. Because he’s not, he’s going to do everything that people want him to do. You know, I’ve been rich for a long time, so we’re not coming here to steal money, bro. I’m coming here to help people, you understand?” he said.
