The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has postponed its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, due to the loss of one of it’s prominent members, Professor Festus Iyayi, who died in an auto crash on Lokoja-Abuja Expressway, on his way to Kano on tuesday, for the union’s meeting.
The decision to call off or continue the four months old strike embarked upon by the University lecturers was expected to be made at the meeting but alas, Kogi state governor’s devilish convoy cut short his life.
The meeting will now hold on January 15, 2014 and till then, the strike continues!
