Man Insists Pregnant Wife Must Deliver At Home, Locks Her Up & Watched Her Bleed To Death [Video]

A middle-aged woman simply identified as Mrs. Nkechi was sent to her early grave when she was forced to put to birth at home by her husband who watched her bleed to death in Ebonyi State.

Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested the husband, Samuel Chidi, who resides at Diamond Point Junction, Chinedu Ogah Avenue Abakaliki,  for allegedly watching his wife, Nkechi, bleed to death in their home after refusing to take her to the hospital to give birth to their 3rd baby.

According to a resident of the compound where the couple stayed, Chidi had previously watched his wife deliver twice through Caesarean section.

With this 3rd pregnancy, he decided that she must not go through the pain of Cesarean section again and so he contracted a patent medicine dealer who came to their home to deliver his wife of their baby.

The patent doctor administered improper injections on her, dragged out the baby to the ground while the husband pinned her legs down, collected the blood, the baby’s placenta and hid in his room while leaving the agonizing mother to bleed to death.

His evil deed came to the open when a Nurse who lives in the same compound with him, asked to see his pregnant wife. The nurse entered their home and asked about the deceased. Chidi then opened up to her that she had died and that her corpse was in his room.

The Nurse raised alarm and immediately asked that the remains of the deceased be taken to the mortuary while the baby is rushed to the hospital for proper medical attention. She said:

“I went out with my aunty on coming back I was called, immediately I rushed to their apartment with my aunty thinking that Nkechi just gave birth.

“On getting their I saw Ogoo their house help carrying a new born baby already dressed, I saw Nkechi at the bull of  blood on the ground with her jugular vein straight, her husband was by the side while the so called Traditional Birth Attendant TBA was at her back with clothes stained in blood.

“I went down asked Ogo if the baby’s cord has been tired,the so call TBA said yes, I now asked of the placenta I was told it was safe so immediately I bent down to check her, I found out that her body was cold, I check for the pulse I couldn’t get it , I touched her neck  it was cold and I then raised alarm.

“The next thing the neighbours gathered, the whole of the third floor nobody heard a sound that showed that the woman was in labour.

“After that we now decided to take her to the mortuary and as we carried her blood was still gushing out from her body, all that I did to see if I could restored her back to life proved abortive.

The family of the deceased was contacted soon after and dismayed by the negligent conduct of the man who had sworn to love, cherish and protect their daughter till death do them part, withdrew the body and proceeded to dump it in the man’s compound for him to do with it as he had presumably purposed.

The timely intervention of the police saved Chidi from being lynched by his angry neighbors. He is currently cooling off his heels in the police station.
