Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai said he would personally patrol the Kano-Kaduna boundary on sallah day so that nobody from Kano State would sneak into his state.
The governor who stated this during a media chat with selected radio stations in Kaduna on Tuesday, said it was part of measures to check the spread of the deadly coronavirus into the state.
El-Rufai said he would personally be at the the Kano-Kaduna boarder all day to ensure that nobody enter his state through the entry points on the eid-el-fitri (sallah day) which is slated for Saturday or Sunday.
“I will ensure that I personally visit and patrol the Kaduna-Kano boundary on Sallah day and I will remain there from morning till night to see who will dare enter Kaduna State. I will not leave there until late at night,” the governor said.
El-Rufai blamed the influx of people on some corrupt security agents, saying that they were sabotaging government’s efforts in curtailing the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Kaduna currently confirmed 159 cases of coronavirus that have infected 6,401 persons across the nation.
