“I Rαped Over 40 Women In One Year” – Says Kano Serial Rapist Who Was Caught In A Child’s Bedroom

Kano State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man, Muhammad Alfa, who allegedly raped over 40 women within one year in the state.

The Spokesman of the Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the arrest on Wednesday, said the serial rapist was caught in a child’s bedroom.

According to him, the suspect was arrested on Tuesday at about 2am when he trespassed into a house at Kwanan Dangora Town in Kano, with intent to commit the heinous crime.

Haruna said the suspect, popularly known as Mai Siket, has been trespassing into homes to have canal knowledge of his victims for a long time, noting that some of the victims referred to the suspect as an evil spirit.

“Police on Tuesday, on June 10, 2020, arrested 32-year-old Muhammad Alfa in Kwanar Dangora, an outskirt of Kano.

“The suspect trespassed into a house at Kwanan Dangora town, and entered the children’s bedroom, in the process the mother of the kids caught him and alerted the neighbours.

“The suspect ran away but was caught by neighbours and handed over to the police,” he said.

The police spokesman said that in the course of investigation the suspect admitted raping over 40 women in the past one year, adding that some of the victims included children and an 80-year-old woman.

Haruna added that the community was happy after receiving the news that the serial rapist had been arrested by the police.

The chief of the town, Ahmadu Yau, also said the arrest was a welcome development, after residents told how they have been living in fear for the last year after hearing about a series of rapes.

The spokesman said the Commissioner of police, Habu Ahmad, had ordered the suspect to be transferred to the State Criminal Intelligence Department for investigation.

Haruna said as soon as the investigation was concluded, the suspect would be charged to court.
