A 45-year-old civil servant working with the Ekiti State Government, Sunday Asefon, has emerged as the new President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
Asefon got 155 votes to defeat 12 other contestants including his closest rival, Olushola Oladoja, who scored 100 votes during the NANS election on Thursday, December 3, 2020.
The 45-year old reported to be an undergraduate studying Public sector and Administrative Governance at Ekiti State University (EKSU), replaces Danielson Akpan, who was impeached for allegedly diverting students’ Covid-19 palliatives.
KanyiDaily had reported how 20 students sustained wounds from gunshots and machete after thugs invaded NANS convention in Abuja during the election accreditation on Thursady.
