American rapper, DaBaby was arrested on Thursday afternoon after the police found a loaded handgun in possession while shopping at Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California.

The Beverly Hills Police Department confirmed the arrest to E! News, saying a Gucci security guard had notified police about a man who appeared to have “a handgun in his waistband” while walking down the street with a group of men.

Police arrived at the scene shortly after and surrounded DaBaby’s vehicle as he was about to pull out from Rodeo Drive with his three friends.

The people he was with “were detained and released at the scene,” police said, adding that DaBaby was subsequently booked on a misdemeanor charge of carrying a loaded firearm which was found inside his car.

The 29-year-old rapper was charged on one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle.

The singer who has been nominated for six Grammy Awards, including the 2020 Record of the Year, was released on a $35,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in March.

KanyiDaily had also reported how popular US rapper, YG was arrested at his home in Los Angeles on suspicion of robbery two days before he is scheduled to perform at the Grammy awards.
