DJ Cuppy To Sue Davido’s Aide, Israel DMW Over Claims That She Owes Zlatan Ibile

A popular disk jockey, DJ Cuppy has threatened to sue Afeare Israel, who is better known as Israel DMW, a personal logistics manager to Davido, over claims that she did not pay rapper, Zlatan Ibile, for his collaboration in their 2019 hit song, “Gelato”.

KanyiDaily recalls that Isreal DMW recently took to Instagram to explain why Zlatan fell out with DJ Cuppy after she cried out that the rapper blocked her on many social media platforms after their ‘Gelato’ collaboration.

In the post, Israel alleged that Zlatan is angry with DJ Cuppy because despite the commercial success of “Gelato”, the disk jockey did not compensate the rapper.

Isreal also alleged that Cuppy did she provide accommodation for Zlatan when she took him to Abuja for her fundraiser, where she made billions of naira.

According to him, Zlatan was forced to pay for his own accommodation and feeding including the expenses of his team who joined him on the Abuja trip.

Reacting on her Twitter page, Cuppy said she did not breach any contractual agreement with Zlatan, adding that she will be suing Davido’s personal logistic manager for libel and defamation over his claims.

“For the record… There have been no breaches of my contractual agreement regarding the song #Gelato as confirmed by lawyers… However, as @IsrealDMW publicly inaccurately declared I owe an artist money, I am suing him for libel and defamation!

“See you in court Isreal,” she tweeted, adding “Sadly my Cupcakes, I’m not allowed to answer questions or comment further as it is now a legal case…”

The feud between the two entertainers started after DJ Cuppy lamented over her broken friendship with Zlatan, revealing that the rapper blocked her on Instagram and WhatsApp for over 10 months.

She wondered why he did so, because, according to her, they were actually friends and he is yet to disclose his reasons for blocking her after they collaborated on the hit single ‘Gelato’ back in 2019.

On Thursday, Zlatan shocked Nigerians when he denied ever knowing DJ Cuppy in an interview on Soudcity’s ‘The Switch‘ show.

When quizzed on his lingering feud with the DJ, Zlatan left the audience stunned when he asked if Cuppy was an artiste. He also claimed he doesn’t know her.

Zlatan’s response caused lots of controversy among Nigerians on social media, which was why Davido’s PA Isreal revealed the reason behind the bad blood the rapper and Cuppy.

Reacting to the allegations, DJ Cuppy simply tweeted, “Super Story,” with the hashtag, #freecuppy. In another tweet, she noted that she has learnt to “kill them with kindness and and rise above the noise.”
