The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended eight suspected internet fraudsters after raiding their hideout in Ondo State.
The internet fraudsters were arrested at their hotel hideout located at the Housing Estate, Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the EFCC operatives from the Ibadan Zonal Office stormed Akure and apprehended the suspects in their hotel at about 6pm.
The EFCC officials were said to have acted on intelligent report linking the suspects to alleged fraudulent activities, ranging from scams on numerous dating sites, obtaining money by false pretense and others.
Three exotic cars, mobile phones and laptops alongside several incriminating documents were recovered from the suspects.
The suspects include Olasukanmi Daramola, Oluwaseyi Akinluyi, Abiola Mutiu, Adebanjo Adegoke, Kehinde Idowu, Sunday Morufu, Adebayo Odewunmi and Ridwan Tobiloba.
The EFCC said all the eight suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
This is coming just three days after the EFCC Ibadan Zonal Office arrested 57 suspected internet fraudsters at their hotel hideouts in Ilaro area of Ogun State.
