Phone Thief Caught After He Fell Asleep While Robbing A Kebbi Mosque [Photos]

A 31-year-old suspected thief identified as Hamza Usman has been caught with stolen phones after he broke into a mosque at Bayan Kara, Birnin Kebbi.

A Facebook user identified as Yakubu Ahmed Bk said the thief from Maidahini village was caught in the early hours of Friday after he fell asleep in front of a mosque where he went to steal phones.

The suspect who claimed that he was in the company of two others (now at large) confessed that they have been stealing phones at night in houses when owners had gone to bed.

“Hamza Usman, 31, from Maidahini village was caught in the early hours of today with multiple handsets at Bayan Kara, Birnin Kebbi,” the post reads.

“He claimed that he was in the company of two others (now at large) who have been stealing phones at night in houses when people had gone to bed.

“He went into a mosque at night after scaling walls of some houses and stealing phones and was about stealing gadgets when he suddenly fell asleep. He was arrested when worshippers began trooping in for early morning prayers. He has since been handed over to police authorities.”
