Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyers Reacts To Adjournment Of His Trial By Juctice Binta Nyako [Video]

The Counsels to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has reacted to the adjournment of his trial by the judge, Justice Binta Nyako.

KanyiDaily had reported that during his trial on Wednesday, Nnamdi Kanu’s team of lawyers staged a walkout over the refusal of the DSS operatives to allow some of them to gain access into the courtroom, including Bruce Fein, Kanu’s lawyer from the United States.

When quizzed about the development from the dock, Kanu told Justice Nyako that Fein, who was handling a case for him in the US, was around to witness his trial.

He said, “I have an ongoing case in the US. I have not been allowed to see him. He is here to see me and to observe the proceedings. He has been to the DSS to see me, but they denied him access to me.”

When asked by the Judge, if he was ready to conduct the proceedings himself, in the absence of his lawyers, Nnamdi Kanu replied “no”.

Delivering her ruling, Justice Nyako expressed displeasure over the conduct of Kanu’s lawyers which she described as an offense, and adjourned the trial till 19th January 2022.

Reacting to the development, Nnamdi Kanu’s lead counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, and others accused Justice Nyako of adjourning the proceedings without hearing from them.

Ejiofor explained that the judge locked him and his colleague out of the courtroom and accused them of “staging a walkout” so she could detain Nnamdi Kanu till next year.

KanyiDaily had also published a video showing the moment Nnamdi Kanu confronted DSS operatives for blocking his lawyers from entering the court.
