Bandits have reportedly killed a manager of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in Abuja, Shila Ojebola, despite collecting N7 million ransom.
Family sources told Peoples Gazette that Ojebola, 47, was recently promoted to a manager at the FIRS’ Medium & Small Tax Office in Lugbe.
Ojebola’s promotion reportedly came when he was in the bandits’ camp after he was kidnapped along Abuja-Kaduna Highway about three weeks ago.
“He was promoted to the post of a manager while in their camp,” said a family source.
The 47-year-old FIRS manager was killed by the bandits despite collecting N7 million ransom from his family to secure his release.
The Gazette also learnt that the police and State Security Service (SSS) were involved in the ransom after the bandits demanded the ransom.
The spokesperson for the police in Abuja, Josephine Adeh, could not be immediately reached to confirm their role in the matter.
KanyiDaily had also reported how bandits killed ECWA Pastor, Dauda Bature, who also paid ransom after he was kidnapped on his farm in Kaduna State.
