21-Year-Old Man Arraigned For Touching A Woman’s Buttοcks Without Her Consent

A 21-year-old man, Ramadhan Johnson has been arraigned before Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi, Kenya, for allegedly touching a woman’s buttοcks without her consent.

The complainant, a businesswoman, was returning her umbrella to her store when the accused who was walking behind her, intentionally touched her buttocks without her consent along Murang’a Road on March 10.

A police report read; “While coming back from the store as she was walking along a narrow path, she was attacked by the accused person who intentionally touched her buttocks with his hands and pulled her towards his body”

The 34-year-old complainant said upon seeing three other men who reportedly also had the intention of abusing her, fled the scene for her safety.

On March 11, the woman according to court documents, sent a group of elderly men to talk to the accused to admit his mistake and apologize but he refused. She then decided to file a complaint at the Central Police Station.

The charge against him following his arraignment in court thereafter, read; “You are charged that on March 10, 2022, along Murang’a Road, Nairobi, you intentionally and unlawfully touched the buttocks of Makena Sara Ngari with your hands against her will”

When the charge was read before him, the young man pleaded not guilty to one count of committing an indecent act with an adult,

He handed a bond of Ksh300,000 with alternative cash bail of Ksh100,000, and the matter was adjourned till March 30.

KanyiDaily had also reported how a 40-year-old woman pleaded with a court to forgive her 39-year-old husband after he assaulted her because she refused to sing at a funeral.
