Nigerian gospel singer, Prince Chinedu Nwadike has reportedly died on Sunday afternoon at an hospital in Abuja.

Chinedu Nwadike Is Dead

It was gathered that the 39-year-old singer died of blood cancer, known as leukemia, after recovering from a kidney problem.

His friend, Darlington Chidera Ibekwe, who disclosed this via his Facebook page on Sunday, said Chinedu was billed to travel to India to treat his blood cancer before his demise.

He wrote, “Rest In Peace Prince Chinedu Nwadike. He lost the blood cancer battle a few hours ago in Abuja.

“When I spoke with him over the phone last week, he told me he had fully recovered from the kidney issue and would be proceeding to India by this coming week for treatment of the blood cancer – Leukemia.

“This is a sad development, we just lost a golden voice. Let us please remember his family in prayers. We were not completely fair to Evang. Chinedu Nwadike.

Ibekwe added, “Earlier, when his ailment surfaced online, so many people criticized him, those who called him fake, g#y and so on, it was way too much for him, way too much, a man lying on his sickbed, scrolling through his social media handles and seeing unfair comments, definitely wouldn’t go down well with him, even some pastors openly went against him.

“He told us he got ‘miraculously’ healed of his kidney ailment, so many of us trolled him yet again and called him fake, said his ailment was fake, he was just using it to raise money, we said but today he is no more, he is dead, maybe, just maybe, his death is fake too, he just wants to attract sympathy, what a generation!”

“Chinedu has a great vibe, whenever he steps into a circle, you would definitely know he was there and Baba had a great heart.

“My heart goes out to his family, his kids are too tender, that breaks my heart the most. I hope we put humanity first! We just lost a golden voice! His songs are just playing in my head right now.”

Before his death, Chinedu Nwadike had sought financial assistance to enable him travel to India for treatment of the blood cancer.

He was said to have been on the verge of finalizing the trip when he succumbed to the disease.

Nwadike was a popular Igbo gospel musician known for his many songs, including his “Oku Gbajie Aka Ji Ngozim”, “God of Vengeance” “Afo Ngozi’m”, among others.

He has been married to his wife, Sorochi Dora Nwadike for nearly 10 years. They wedded in August 2012 and share two children together. The couple initially had three kids but their last born died in 2020.
