President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed disappointment over the recent attack by terrorists at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje in Abuja.
KanyiDaily had earlier reported how gunmen attacked Kuje prison in Abuja on Tuesday night, freeing over 600 inmates including all detained Boko Haram insurgents.
Shortly after visiting the scene of the attack on Wednesday, Buhari took to his Twitter page to express sadness and disappointment over the country’s intelligence system.
He also wondered how terrorists could organize, have weapons, attack a security installation and get away with it, noting that he was expecting a comprehensive report on the incident as soon as possible.
Buhari said: “Saddened by the attack on the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje. I am disappointed with the intelligence system. How can terrorists organize, have weapons, attack a security installation and get away with it? I am expecting a comprehensive report on this shocking incident.”
Despite the backlash trailing the attack at Kuje prison, President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Abuja to participate in the International Development Association’s (IDA) summit in Dakar, Senegal.
