It was gathered that Madaki, who is the AIG in charge of zone 12 police command, was shot in the leg while his orderly was killed during the attack on Tuesday.

An intelligence organization, Eons Intelligence, also confirmed via its Twitter handle on Wednesday morning that Madaki sustained bullet injury while his orderly was shot dead by the attackers.

The post reads, “The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12 and his convoy were attacked yesterday 2 August 2022 at about 1430hrs at Barde Zangidi area of Bauchi State. The AIG sustained bullet injury while the orderly was shot dead.”

When TheCable contacted Thomas Goni, zone 12 police spokesperson, to comment on the incident, he said he is yet to receive details of the attack.

He said, “We are still waiting for the details of the incident. You know it did not happen within our jurisdiction here; it happened in Kaduna command so I have been on the line with Kaduna to get the details from them.”

While confirming that the AIG is alive, Goni said information about the incident will be made available when details are received from the Kaduna command.

Meanwhile, Kaduna police spokesperson, Mohammed Jalige, did not respond to calls and text messages to comment on the attack.

KanyiDaily had also reported how a police officer identified as Temenu Boluwaji was killed during an attack by gunmen at Okuta Elerinla police station in Ondo state.
