Kano Building Collapse: Six Rescued, Others Trapped

Six people have been reportedly rescued alive while others are still trapped inside a three-storey building that collapsed in Kano state on Tuesday afternoon.

Located along the the popular Beirut road by Ibrahim Taiwo road in Kano metropolis, the collapsed building was still under construction.

The collapsed building, it was gathered, houses traders selling mobile phones and other accessories.

It was also gathered that the building collapsed around 3.40 pm.

The cause if the collapsed building is yet to be ascertained, but some reports say that it collapsed after additional stairs were being added to it.

Spokesman of Kano state Fire service, Saminu Yusuf who confirmed the number of rescued victims said the rescue operation is still ongoing.

Reports say that several people are trapped under the collapsed building.

Kanyi Daily understands that last Friday, a three-storey had also collapsed in Kubwa Satellite town, Abuja, killing two persons.
