A motorcyclist, popularly known as okada rider, has been swept away by flood after he refused to let go of his bike and save himself in Oko Oba, Agege, Lagos State.
In a video circulating on social media, the okada rider could be seen carrying two passengers behind him as he tries to drive through the flooded street.
The first passenger soon jumps down from the bike as it enters deeper into the water. Shortly after, the second passenger falls from the bike into the water and immediately stands up.
But the bike rider continued driving through the flooded street before the flood drowns his bike and sweeps man and machine away.
As the water was carrying the rider away, spectators were heard screaming for the man to leave the bike, but he refused to let go and save himself.
The man tried saving himself and succeeded in grabbing hold of his bike as spectators thanked God for him. But their joy was cut short as he couldn’t pull him out of the water. The flood ended up sweeping him away with his bike.
KanyiDaily had also reported that the palatial home of former Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan, was taken over by the rampaging flood that has devastated most parts of the country.
