It was gathered that Egbo’s convoy was attacked by gunmen on Wednesday at Eke-Otu in Amechi Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area of the state.
According to Punch, the gunmen reportedly killed the driver of one of the buses in Egbo’s convoy and burnt his body with the vehicle.
All efforts to speak with the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, proved abortive as he could not be reached on telephone as at the time of filing this report.
The incident happened the same day some gunmen attacked and killed the Labour Party senatorial candidate for Enugu East senatorial district, Oyibo Chukwu, with five of his supporters in Amechi on Wednesday evening.
