Win A Councillorship Election First So We Can Be Mates In Politics – Yakubu Dogara ‘Punches’ Festus Keyamo

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara on Sunday, carpeted the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo.

Yakubu Dogara Fires Back At Festus Keyamo

Yakubu Dogara was reacting to Keyamo’s earlier remark in which he described the former speaker of the House of Representatives as a “political prostitute”.

Keyamo had written, “My brother and law schoolmate, @YakubDogara, this tweet is beneath you. You are actually pained by the support of PMB for @officialABAT, two leaders who have stayed true to their beliefs and causes, unlike the political prostitute, wanderer, and back-stabber that you’ve always been.”

Keyamo’s outburst was in response to Yakubu Dogara’s taunting of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dogara had referred to Buhari’s endorsement of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, at a campaign in Nasarawa State as a mockery.

“I know that PMB loves to crack jokes but I didn’t know he will escalate it to the level of satire. Asiwaju’ll give his best to Nigeria? Fake certificates, fake parentage, golden triangle escapades, racketeering. No PMB, Nigeria does not deserve his best but we get the satire,” Dogara said.

Retweeting Keyamo’s post, Yakubu Dogara agreed that indeed, he and the spokesperson for the Bola Tinubu, Shettima Campaign Council were mates at law school, but he is waiting for him to win a councilorship election first so they can be mates in politics.

He also said he has a name for the minister of state for Labour and Employment but he will not reveal the name to the public as a cost of friendship and because it’s not a good one.

He advised Keyamo to “punch below your weight category.”

Dogara wrote, “My brother, I have a name for you but because it’s not a good one, I won’t say it as a cost of friendship.

“Yes, we were mates at Law School but I am waiting for you to win a councilorship election first so we can be mates in politics. Learn to punch below your weight category.”

The former speaker is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a powerful supporter of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Dogara had initially supported Tinubu but dumped him and left the APC for the PDP when the APC presidential candidate chose Kashim Shettima, a Muslim from Borno State as his running mate. Dogara is a Christian from Bauchi State.

Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that the Lagos State Police Command, says it has arrested two suspected land grabbers and cultists.

The spokesman of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed this in a short statement posted on his official Twitter handle.
