He stated that even though he was eligible to vote, his pre-planned shows and performances abroad clashed with the election date.

He continued, saying that his performances in foreign counties are always scheduled more than a year in advance to ensure a suitable election.

The reason why he was unable to vote in the presidential elections was that travelling back to Nigeria would have come with a lot of logistical challenges.

He posted on his Instagram story; “I have always spoken up about the wrongs in this country. It is quite unfortunate that I missed the elections this year. However, my international shows are planned for one year so as to secure the date and venue.”

“To have changed my venue on such short notice would have been a logistical hazard not to myself but to the whole crew. Elections have not always been in February… I am proud of every Nigerian Youth For taking a stand. Thank you to my true fans that understood and still came out for me.”
