Peter Obi To ‘OBIdients’ – Please Respect Sanctity Of Our Court Premises

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the just conducted presidential election, Peter Obi has urged his supporters to respect the sanctity of the court and avail his legal team space and peaceful environment to carry out their duties.

Recall that the February 25th presidential election produced former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu as the winner of the keenly contested election, as announced by Nigeria’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Major opposition candidates, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and LP respectively have since rejected the outcome of the election, citing rigging and other forms of electoral malpractices. Videos and pictures from all sorts of electoral malpractice supposedly from the poll flooded social media.

Also, the majority of Nigerians have since rejected Tinubu as the president-elect, saying he was not the candidate they voted for.

There were allegations and reports of widespread rigging of the election by INEC to ensure that the former Lagos governor wins the polls.

Both Atiku and Obi have also since commenced legal redress of the poll.

Taking to his official Twitter handle on Wednesday, Peter Obi informed his supporters, who are popularly known as “Obidients” that the court premises is not and should not be turned into a rally ground.

Peter Obi called also urged his supporters to go about their businesses peacefully.

He wrote, “As we go about seeking redress for our stolen mandate, I plead with OBIdients to respect the sanctity of the Court premises and give our legal team the space and peaceful environment to carry out their duties.

“The Court Premises is not and should not be turned into a rally ground. I urge the Obidients to go about their businesses peacefully.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that fourteen internet fraudsters, popularly known as “Yahoo Boys” have been convicted by Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of the Edo State High Court Benin City.

The conviction of the “Yahoo Boys” was secured by the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
