How EFCC Arrested Six Suspected ‘Yahoo Boys’, Recovered 4 Expensive Cars, Others

The arrest, Uwujaren said, was based on credible intelligence on their alleged criminal activities.

Six suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as “Yahoo Boys” have been arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja.

Four expensive cars, laptops, mobile phones, one international passport, and an expensive wristwatch were the items recovered from the Yahoo Boys.

A statement issued by the Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspected fraudsters were nabbed on Tuesday, April 18, 2023,   in an early morning sting operation at Jahi and Dawaki axes of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

The arrest, Uwujaren said, was based on credible intelligence on their alleged criminal activities.

According to the statement, the suspects are Emmanuel Ndubuisi, Solomon Tochukwu, Okotie Kingsley, Benedict Akor, Samuel Anosike, and Samson Iffy.

“Items recovered from them include; one Mercedes Benz car; two Lexus RX350s and Toyota Camry.

“Others are, laptops, mobile phones, one international passport, and an expensive wristwatch.”

The EFCC image maker said the suspect will be charged in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported that Arise TV anchor, Rufai Oseni has tackled the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) for not “fining” the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) after broadcasting an “illegal acceptance speech” of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Aisha Dahiru Binani.

Rufai called out NBC on its Twitter handle on Tuesday.
