He commended Umahi for the construction of the airport but said it is “immoral and sycophantic” to name two airports in the country after the president.

Sani stated this in a tweet on his official handle on Thursday.

The Ebonyi State Government had a few days, said it has secured approval from the Federal Government to carry out an inaugural test fight at the new International Airport, Onueke.

The Airport was named after President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Sani, Buhari should decline that the airports be named after him.

He opined that the state government should instead name the airport after the late legendary novelist, Chinua Achebe, Emeka Anyaokwu, Victoria Ironsi, or the late Biafra warlord, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu.

Shehu Sani’s tweet reads, “The Construction of Ebonyi Airport is commendable. Kudos. But It’s immoral & sycophantic to name two Airports in the country after Buhari. He should respectfully decline it.

“The Airport should rather be named after Chinua Achebe, Emeka Anyaokwu, Victoria Ironsi, or the Ikemba himself.”

In other news, Kanyi Daily reported how President Muhammadu Buhari arrived at the Nigerian Army trooping and presentation of colours parade at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Thursday.
