Bode George Says He Is Not Seeking Tinubu Appointments, but He Will Recommend Nominees

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George has expressed that he has no intention of seeking an appointment under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. However, he acknowledged his willingness to recommend competent individuals to work with the president.

Chief George, a vocal critic of Tinubu, revealed that his reconciliation with the president was primarily driven by the pursuit of peace and respect for those who intervened in the matter at Tinubu’s request. Senior indigenes of Lagos State and a delegation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) visited George to end the longstanding dispute and sought his support for the Tinubu government. The former Deputy National Chairman emphasized that at his age, he couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Addressing speculations about his desire for a government appointment, Chief George dismissed such claims as baseless. He explained that his focus lies in fostering opportunities for the younger generation. He expressed his readiness to offer assistance to President Tinubu by recommending individuals with profound knowledge of the party, drawing from his years of experience as a party manager. However, he firmly asserted that he himself is not seeking employment.

When asked about accepting a government appointment if offered, Chief George clarified that he would consult with party leaders and collectively nominate a capable and energetic young individual who can contribute positively to the country. He emphasized that his role would be to facilitate the selection process rather than vie for a position.

Additionally, Chief George highlighted his loyalty to the PDP and stated that he refrained from congratulating or visiting Tinubu at the presidential villa while his party’s legal challenge to the outcome of the presidential election was ongoing. He believed that such actions would constitute a betrayal of his party.

Chief Olabode George’s reconciliation with President Tinubu underscores the importance of peace and unity in political circles. As he focuses on the well-being and empowerment of the younger generation, his influence and recommendations could play a crucial role in shaping the future administration.

Kanyi Daily recalls that Bode George earlier announced that he’ll relocate from Nigeria to Ghana if Tinubu becomes the President.
