Former President Donald Trump has been arrested and pleaded not guilty to 37 charges related to the alleged mishandling of classified documents. Trump’s lawyers requested a jury trial during his arraignment at a federal courthouse in Miami.
Trump’s co-defendant, Walt Nauta, was also arrested and had an initial appearance. The court has ordered no communication between Trump and Nauta about the case.
Despite the charges, no travel restrictions have been imposed on either defendant. The Justice Department recommended their release without financial or special conditions, stating they are not considered flight risks. Trump posted on social media, expressing his dismay about the situation before heading to court.
