Illness: Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, Hands Over to Deputy

In a recent development, the Ondo State House of Assembly confirmed that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has submitted a medical leave letter, citing his deteriorating health condition. The governor, who is currently bedridden, is scheduled to embark on a 21-day medical treatment abroad, starting from June 17, 2023, until July 6, 2023.

Due to his absence, Governor Akeredolu has delegated his responsibilities to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who will serve as the acting governor during his medical leave.

It was earlier indicated that the governor had fallen ill and was confined to his residence in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. Following the severity of his health condition, plans were made for him to be flown out of Nigeria for specialized medical care.

Some months ago, Betty, the wife of the governor recently cried out that her husband was sick after taking a “concoction” from one of his female aides, Bunmi Ademosun.
