Prior to Yul Edochie’s announcement of his second marriage, rumors circulated that none of the Edochie family members supported the union and that they did not accompany the actor to Judy’s hometown to pay her bride price.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, Rita Edochie confirmed the rumour when she questioned the term used in Igbo culture when a man marries a woman but none of his brothers, relatives, or fellow villagers accompany him to take the woman as his wife.
She wrote, “When a man marries you, and non of his kins’ men, siblings, or any village relative followed to take you. What is it called in Igbo land?”.
The actress’s question generated various responses and interpretations from her followers who queried the dynamics surrounding Yul Edochie’s marriage and the potential disapproval from his relatives.
KanyiDaily recalls that Rita Edochie, who is supporting Yul’s first wife, May Edochie, had recently shared a video n which she addressed women who engage in the act of snatching married men from their partners.
