Wike Says He’ll Consult His Wife And Friends If Tinubu Offers Him Appointment

The immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has shared his perspective on potential appointments from President Bola Tinubu.

During an interview with BBC Pidgin, Nyesom Wike said he would make consultations with his wife and friends to determine whether or not to take up any appointment offer from Tinubu.

The former governor, who clarified that Tinubu had not offered him any appointment, said he wants to rest after his eight-year tenure of service to the state.

When asked if he will take up a new role with the Bola presidency, Wike said: “I’m going to rest; I have worked for eight years, so I’m going to rest.

“Tinubu has not informed me about getting an appointment; I’m not too big to serve my country, but he has never told me that he would give me an appointment.

“If he asks me, the first thing I will do is ask my wife and friends what they think about it. I will also assess myself if I’m prepared. I will never do what I’m not ready for.”

KanyiDaily recalls that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the Nyesom Wike is no longer a member of the party given his conduct before, during, and after the 2023 general elections.
