Actress Kemi Afolabi Blames Lagos Government For Death Of Dr Vwaere Diaso

Nollywood actress, Kemi Afolabi has blamed the government for the death of Dr. Vwaere Diaso, a medical doctor who died at Lagos Island General Hospital, Odan.

KanyiDaily had reported how Dr. Vwaere Diaso lost her life on Monday, July 31 after she was trapped in a faulty elevator which fell from the 10th floor at the Lagos General Hospital.

Reacting on her Instagram page, Kemi Afolabi expressed her deep sorrow over the loss of the young doctor who was just two weeks away from completing her housemanship.

The actress lamented the lack of proper administration and maintenance that resulted in the fatal accident, questioning why the right thing was not done to prevent such a tragedy.

She acknowledged that speaking up about such issues often draws criticism and accusations of fighting the government, but she firmly believes that it is essential to raise awareness and demand accountability for the safety and well-being of citizens.

Kemi Afolabi further offered her condolences to the friends and family of the deceased doctor and prayed for divine comfort during their time of grief.

Shee wrote, “RIP to you Dr Diasco💔 if we talk now, they will say we are using our platform to fight the government instead of supporting and praying for them hmmmnnn.

“I believe we all know the right thing to do but we choose to ignore until such situation affect or kill somebody!

“We talk about it for few days..then everyone moves on like nothing happened. Na who die life finish & end for🥲

“May the Almighty console the friends & family of the deceased🙏💔💔💔💔.”

Some netizens condemned Kemi Afolabi’s comment, stressing that the government are not responsible for the incident neither are they part of the faulty administration.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Lagos State chapter, has called for an indefinite strike among doctors over Dr. Vwaere Diaso’s death.
