We No Longer Have Sit-At-Home in Enugu, South East – Governor Peter Mbah

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State stated on Tuesday that residents in the Southeast are no longer adhering to the sit-at-home order issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Mbah noted that in the Southeast, residents are now freely engaging in their daily affairs without worrying about potential encounters with enforcers of the sit-at-home directive.

The governor made these remarks after visiting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

We no longer have a sit-at-home in Enugu State, and I dare say in the South-East. We have workers going to work on Monday, and schools are open on Monday,” the governor said.

Business and economic activities are back. So, what we are dealing with now is to erase that sad memory from our history.”

Governor Mbah also expressed appreciation for the financial reforms implemented by Tinubu’s administration, affirming that these changes have contributed to the efficient circulation of capital both into and out of the country, thereby positively influencing Enugu State.

However, he admitted that specific policies, such as the removal of fuel subsidies, create difficulties for the Nigerians.

It is essentially to commend the president because a lot of things that he is doing at the national level are also rubbing off well on us at the state level – policies like the unification of the foreign exchange rate. What that simply means is that we are going to have a lot of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) coming in, and we are also going to benefit from that,” he added.

KanyiDaily recalls that Peter Mbah went around the state’s metropolis and urged the people to come out and go about their various businesses.
