Court Freezes 24 Kano Government’s Bank Account

A Federal High Court has ordered the freezing of 24 Kano State Government bank accounts.

This comes as a result of its failure to adhere to a court ruling to pay N30 billion in compensation to victims of the Filling Idi Demolition exercise.

freezing directive extends to 24 bank accounts in Kano State, including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) account of the state.

Justice E. A Ekwo, the presiding judge, has instructed the Kano State Government to appear in court on January 18 to provide a credible explanation for the freezing of N30 billion in the impacted bank accounts.

The funds are meant to be allocated to the Incorporated Trustees of Masallacin Eid Shop Owners
