Police Intensify Efforts To Rescue Five Siblings Abducted in Abuja

The Nigeria Police Force has intensified its efforts to rescue the five young girls abducted in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

The force also stated that active measures are being taken to avert further incidents of kidnapping throughout the country.

A statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Saturday, conveyed that the incident occurred after the reported killing of one of the girls, Najeebah, by gunmen who abducted her and her five sisters in Abuja.

The abduction took place on January 9, involving both the six siblings and their father, with the kidnappers demanding a ransom of N60m

The hoodlums reportedly killed the oldest of the six girls, Najeebah, and dumped her body somewhere for her parents to bury as they were unable to raise the money,” the statement lamented.

Adejobi stated that the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, issued orders to upscale tactical intelligence teams in the battle against kidnapping

The statement clarified that the sensitivity of the situation requires discretion, leading to the confidentiality of specific details to prevent compromising ongoing operations

The statement emphasized that the NPF is actively engaging and contacting individuals crucial to the rescue operations and investigation.

It highlighted that the objective is not only to bring perpetrators to justice but also to intensify efforts in rescue operations for victims still in captivity.

Kanyi Daily recalls that Unknown gunmen had kidnapped Rev. Gideon Haanongon, the Chairman of Ukum Local Government Area in Benue State.
