Many Nigerians had stormed Alex Iwobi’s Instagram page to insults and blame him for Super Eagles’ loss to Ivory Coast in the AFCON finals.
On Monday, Iwobi deleted all his photos and videos on the platform due to the online harassment.
Addressing the situation on his Instagram page, Jay Jay Okocha expressed concerns about his nephew.
He wrote, “I pray for my country Nigeria and the people that can only hate and see nothing good in others. When effort counts for nothing, treat people the way you want them to treat you. All we have is this life and each other.
“We love you, @alexanderiwobi, and we keep going no matter what they say. The Lord is good all the time, and we trust that His will be done in our lives. Amen.”
KanyiDaily recalls that Alex Iwobi recently revealed that Wizkid showed him “love” when he was just starting out in his football career.
