Jeff Bezos Overtakes Elon Musk As He Reclaims Title Of World’s Richest Person

Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, has reclaimed the title of the world’s richest man, surpassing Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla Inc.

Jeff Bezos achieved this milestone as Amazon’s share price experienced an 18 percent surge, pushing his net worth to $200 billion.

Elon Musk’s net worth currently stands at $198 billion after a substantial loss of $17.6 billion in a single day due to a 7.2 percent decline in Tesla shares.

Bezos has witnessed an 18 percent year-to-date increase in Amazon’s shares and an impressive 90 percent surge over the past year. On the contrary, Tesla shares have faced a 24 percent decrease year-to-date.

Bernard Arnault, with a total wealth of $197 billion, holds the position of the world’s third-richest person.

The competition for the title of the world’s richest person remains dynamic, with shifts occurring regularly based on market performance.

The constant rivalry between Bezos, Musk, and other billionaires has led to frequent changes in the ranking.

In January 2021, Musk overtook Bezos, and he again claimed the top spot in May 2023, surpassing Bernard Arnault.

The current standings, according to Bloomberg’s index, are as follows:

1. Jeff Bezos – $200 Billion
2. Elon Musk – $198 Billion
3. Bernard Arnault – $197 Billion
4. Mark Zuckerberg – $179 Billion
5. Bill Gates – $150 Billion
6. Steve Ballmer – $143 Billion
7. Warren Buffett – $133 Billion
8. Larry Ellison – $129 Billion
9. Larry Page – $122 Billion
