Abounce, the son of the late actress Bukky Ajayi, married Yvonne Jegede in a simple wedding in Lagos in February 2018.
The couple met in 2004 on the set of Tade Ogidan’s drama series ‘Behind the Siege’.
Unfortunately, in March 2019, Yvonne confirmed their marriage ended three months after she had their son.
In a teaser for the upcoming episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, the actress said she regretted choosing love over money.
She said that her ex-husband often took jokes as disrespect due to their age difference, contributing to their divorce.
Yvonne Jegede said the main reason she left was that she was providing more financially than Abounce.
She said: “He [my ex-husband] is eight years older than me. But the moment we got married, if I tell am say, ‘You dey crease, ‘ he would say I’m disrespecting him. I would if it was the same person I got married to.
“But that wasn’t the main reason I left the marriage. Let me just say the fact, I was bringing more of the money. I’m taking care of my son like nobody exist around me. It’s not easy. I would have gone for money instead of love.”
KanyiDaily recalls that in 2019, Yvonne Jegede confirmed that her marriage to Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole had collapsed after she took down his name from her Instagram page following his failure to show up at son’s dedication.
