Gambaryan, wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans, is charged with money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), along with Binance.

When called, the Binance executive stood up from the wheelchair and walked slowly to the dock.

EFCC lawyer, Ogechi Ujam informed the court that the lead counsel, Ekele Iheanacho, was not present and requested the matter be postponed until he could conduct the trial.

Lawyer to Binance, Babatunde Fagbohunlu, (SAN), and Mark Mordi, who represented Gambaryan, did not oppose this request.

Judge Emeka Nwite agreed to postpone the matter.

On July 5, Judge Nwite had ordered the Nigerian Correctional Service to release Gambaryan’s medical certificate by July 16.

This comes following a request from Gambaryan’s lawyer, Mark Mordi, who asked the court to summon the medical doctor from Kuje Correctional Centre to explain the delay in providing the report.

KanyiDaily recalls that Tigran Gambaryan previously slumped during his trial at the Federal High Court Abuja.
