Two More Bodies Recovered From Port Harcourt Helicopter Crash – NSIB

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has announced that two more bodies have been recovered from the Sikorsky S-76 helicopter that crashed in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.

KanyiDaily had reported how the crash, which occurred on Thursday, resulted in the deaths of three people.

At the time of the incident, there were eight people on board, including six passengers and two crew members.

Just a day after the crash, the NSIB reported the recovery of more bodies, with three individuals still unaccounted for.

We have recovered two more bodies, making it a total of five. There are three more down there that hopefully will be recovered today,” NSIB Director General Alex Badeh stated during an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

When asked about the possibility of survivors from the crash, Badeh regrettably noted, “Unfortunately. this time, that is the working theory”.

He added that investigators are on their way to the crash site, indicating that it may take several days to recover the wreckage of the helicopter.

KanyiDaily had also reported how a plane carrying 58 passengers and four crew members has crashed in Brazil.
