APC ‘Retaliates’ As Ganduje Leads Delegation To Visit Buhari In Kaduna [Photos]

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje on Friday led members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to visit former President Muhammadu Buhari at his Kaduna residence.

The visit which seems like a retaliatory move happened just hours after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, accompanied by top People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leaders, also paid a courtesy call to Buhari.

Atiku’s delegation included several former governors — Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto), Achike Udenwa (Imo), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), and Jibrilla Bindow (Adamawa) — along with ex-ministers Abubakar Malami and Isa Pantami.

After the PDP visit, El-Rufai told journalists that the gathering had nothing to do with politics, stressing it was simply a moment of “unity and brotherhood.” He urged critics not to read too much into it.

Meanwhile, the APC’s own visit comes amid growing internal tension within the ruling party, especially following the defection of some key figures to the Social Democratic Party.

However, details of what was discussed during their meeting with Buhari haven’t been made public.

KanyiDaily recalls that Ali Ndume, the senator representing Borno South, said President Bola Tinubu should be concerned if Buhari is not backing him in the 2027 general election.
