It was gathered that the attack happened around 8 p.m on Sunday when gunmen stormed the bar without warning and started shooting at customers, causing panic and chaos.
One eyewitness, who narrowly escaped, said he was passing by when he heard a series of gunshots.
He described seeing people running in all directions but said no one could immediately tell why the bar was targeted.
Security forces later arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area for investigation.
Among those killed was Gabriel Terfa Gugur, who was known locally for claiming to resemble celebrity Kiddwaya.
Spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, Sewuese Catherine confirmed the incident.
She said four people were confirmed dead, while several others who were injured are receiving treatment in the hospital.
Catherine added that an investigation into the attack is already underway.
